Gmail App for the iPhone

The iPhone mail client is like a 1992 clone that got digitally remastered and a touch screen added. The gmail web interface on the iphone is horribly unproductive.

Please google (or some smart kid with time on your hands), make us an iPhone app that works like gmail is supposed to.

Another Great Experience with SideStripe

Today I asked my network via SideStripe: “Anyone know a good general contractor in the bay area?”.

And within half an hour, I got a response from my good friend Colleen saying: "Our friend Dudley is a contractor. Want his contact information?"

To which I replied “Yes please!”

And I now have a personally recommended contractor.

Giving Backblaze a Try

As I’ve said before, I’m a huge advocate for remote backup services and think everyone who doesn’t want to have an early heart attack should use one. I have been using Mozy for a couple of years now and I am satisfied with their offering. It does what it says. But it doesn’t seem like they are doing much to enhance the product lately. Just same old, same old, which doesn’t make me a happy camper (change the UI or something to make it feel fresh and exciting!).

I just got a new computer and since I have to do the full 50GB of uploading, I thought I’d give this fresh new start-up called Backblaze a try. They claim to have a simpler interface and some proprietary technology that won’t affect your computer resources as much as the competitors (Mozy really churned when it was running).

Anyways, installing now. I’ll try to remember to give y’all an update in a few days.
